The International Energy Agency (IEA) will host its 9th Annual Global Conference on Energy Efficiency in Nairobi, Kenya, on May 21-22, 2024.
The event, co-hosted by IEA Executive Director Fatih Birol and Kenya’s Minister of Energy and Petroleum, Davis Chirchir, aims to accelerate global energy efficiency efforts.
Participants will engage in workshops, roundtables, and panel discussions focused on innovative solutions for clean energy.
Key topics include policy actions for governments and industries to double energy efficiency progress this decade and strategies to achieve net-zero emissions.
Leaders will explore ways to expand global access to financing for efficiency and discuss what a resilient, efficient, and low-carbon economy looks like.
This marks the first time the conference will be held in Africa, highlighting Kenya’s role in the global energy landscape.
