Cliantech Solutions has secured an order from IB Solar to supply a 1.2 GW artificial intelligence-enabled solar module manufacturing line, the companies said.
The new production line is expected to become operational by May 2026 and will expand IB Solar’s manufacturing capacity as part of its broader growth plans in the domestic solar sector.
Cliantech previously delivered 600 MW of module manufacturing capacity to IB Solar. With the latest order, the total installed capacity supplied by Cliantech to the company will reach 1.8 GW.
Under the agreement, Cliantech will design and deploy a fully automated production line capable of manufacturing advanced solar module formats, including M10 TOPCon, M10R and G12R modules, which are widely used in high-efficiency solar installations.
The facility will integrate automation-driven equipment such as laminators, inspection systems and electroluminescence testing tools sourced from global suppliers, aimed at improving manufacturing precision and product quality.
Cliantech said the use of automation and AI-enabled monitoring systems is expected to improve throughput, reduce production errors and enhance quality control during module manufacturing.
IB Solar is targeting a significant expansion of its solar manufacturing operations and aims to scale its module capacity to 5 GW in the coming years. The company is also evaluating plans to move into solar cell manufacturing as part of a broader backward integration strategy.
The order reflects growing demand for advanced manufacturing technologies as Indian solar companies expand production capacity to meet increasing demand from utility-scale and rooftop solar projects.
India has been strengthening its domestic solar manufacturing ecosystem through policy support and capacity expansion to reduce dependence on imported modules and build a more resilient clean energy supply chain.
